Your personal background.
I run quite a few DC projects. I'm willing to help out IThena because I like knowing more about the structures of the WWW...

I have experimented with several DC projects offered by BOINC, seeing which ones produced the most results and were most deserving of my unused flops. I have selected a crapload to run in a rotating fashion, to include Cosmology. Basically, anything still active, and some things inactive, I'm willing to run. All of it contributes to knowledge.

Cosmology is a fine example of keeping the horse before the cart. We have Einstein's math, Hawking's, Poincare's, and that of others. Good foundation, good reference. That math, though, has yet to translate into a physical view of the universe -as a whole-, hasn't found dark matter or energy, or told us what will happen to the universe one day. While equations and math concerning these topics may (emphasis on may) be correct from a formulaic, 1+1=2 standpoint, they dead-end at some point, leaving nothing but debate to be had as to what comes next. We need to apply knowledge, and use applied sciences, to answer these questions and settle these arguments. Mathematics in this vein is almost necessarily pure, and should serve to build a base for endeavors like Cosmology.

Anyhow, I fight cancer through DC as well. Going after mutant proteins will stop cancer someday. Using proteins in ways I can't even comprehend (and I'll toot my own horn; I have a damn good mind) to combat cancer and pre-cancerous conditions is the next step in beating this scourge. I lost a grandmother and great aunt to cancer; my father had it, but caught it early and is clear 13 years; and my grandfather had slow-progressing prostate cancer when he died of a heart attack.

I want to beat cancer, and I will do what I can via DC and BOINC. I wish I could do more... any other projects that come online via BOINC that deal in protein cataloging or research... count me in. Immunology? Count me in. If it's medical, count me in...

Beyond immunological and genetic research, I am worried about our weather and NEA's. So I'll help out there, too :) Orbit needs to wake up and send some WU's...

The lovely lady you see isn't I, but Hayley Westenra, a classical crossover singer from Christchurch, NZ. There is no known voice as hers. Check her out- she's seraphic...
Your opinions about iThena.Measurements
It sounds like a worthy project. All information that can be used/applied is valuable...
