I want to but you don't have released a Windows version.

Since when does that need to stop anyone? Well, it shouldn't, anyway. I had tens of thousands of hours running Linux BOINC apps before actually building a (real) Linux computer last year.

Install the (free) Virtual Machine software of your choice: Oracle VirtualBox is a good choice because it's optionally included with BOINC, VMWare Player works well too, and there's others also. Then create a virtual Linux machine using any of the many (also free) flavors of Linux are available. Ubuntu is a good choice for people new to Linux.

There are many Linux-only projects. There are even more Linux-only apps. Even if you only have Windows or Mac computers, you can still participate in Linux projects (except for the extremely rare Linux-only GPU apps.)

I have three Windows computers running BOINC full time -- but there's also four Linux virtual machines running on two of the Windows computers. Since there's very few Mac-only projects (probably zero, actually), once you set up a Linux VM you can pretty much run anything except ARM-specific apps. It works very well.

This is not a very usefull answer. A lot of people have not the knowledge or the drive to mess around with Linux. By saying install a other operating system you exclude a lot off system power.

Today we surpassed 70 000 computers (theoretical number) in the iThena Project. Thank you all very much for your involvement, and we encourage you to participate in the sub-projects - especially the latest OONI Probe.

3) Message boards : Number crunching : No work available for PERF tasks (Message 841)

Post:
The problem is probably caused by too many tasks in the database.
The database server has performance problems.
This is related to earlier problems (bug) with the task generator.
I think that if the number of tasks in the queue (PERF) decreases, the problem will also be minimized.

Now the send queue is empty that problem should be gone.

Please turn on the task generator so we can find out of the problem is fixed.

What has changed? Now the Results only run for a few minutes.

The project is mainly busy just downloading new jobs.

Are you sure about the 2 hours limit?

In the event log I found the following line:

16/05/2020 12:02:18 | iThena | Elapsed time limit 0.000358 < 120.000000; setting to 43200.000000

43200 = 12 hrs

Admin, the current set of work is faulty, there is no point in letting the queue run dry.
Please kill all work. and make a clean start with they new app.
