CNODE tasks are Linux only.

They also take about 30 minutes to run, for the same 2 credits that the 1-5 minute Windows PERF tasks get. That's why most people stick with PERF and don't really bother with the CNODE stuff...

The problem with the storage space has been removed.
Unfortunately sometimes this problem occurs...

THIS IS NOT A WAY TO TREAT YOUR USERS/SUPPORTERS!
This is not the first and maybe not the last time we get no response from any one related to the project for extended days. Seem this project trying to be like "Monkey project" - a one man show that fails to keep watch on things.

I'd like to have more PERF tasks available, too. But this IS a holiday break so I'm not particularly surprised that a project run by a single person doesn't have 24/7 support...

STILL WAITING FOR ANSWERS

I see the project admin was able to post TWO NEWS ITEMS but does not have time for the users who provides the data for the nice reports linked to in the news items.

I see AGAIN the project admin has taken time and posted to the NEWS forum but is NOT answering this topic.
Have been waiting since at least 22 Dec 2020, for PREF tasks.
When are more tasks going to be available for PERF?

The problem is probably caused by too many tasks in the database.
The database server has performance problems.
This is related to earlier problems (bug) with the task generator.
I think that if the number of tasks in the queue (PERF) decreases, the problem will also be minimized.

Seriously, should I drop this project? I've been sitting on the "Communication Deferred" countdown since I joined almost a month ago. I have zero credit because I can never get any work sent over. How can I fix this?

Your account info says that you joined on January 20th, which lines up with about the time that the server was having problems with available work, and then out of disk space, so nobody was really able to get any work then. It has been OK for several days, though, so I honestly don't know why you wouldn't be able to get any work now. Have you tried resetting the project, or completely removing it from your BOINC client and then adding it back in again? That will sometimes fix weird problems where things are just stuck without an obvious explanation.

Without understanding the apps and functions. Is there a value to the project to increase the science and amount of work in a PERF task to extend the runtime to

1 reduce the total number of tasks to be processed
2 reduce the network load for both the project and volunteer
3 reduce the periods of no tasks available. (if a task is not available then no science is being done and the volunteer client is wasting time requesting work that is not there.)

Thanks
Bill F
