As the title says it takes ages to switch screens, load pages in your account, bring up the Server page or even the Forum pages.
Has been like this all day.
Nothing obvious on the Server status page.
Are we being hammered by spam or spam accounts creation perhaps.

Since when do you have these problems?
Just today?

Unfortunately, there are sometimes problems with the access network.
There could be an overload of Internet connections.
In general, sometimes, due to the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic, connections are more overloaded.

I had the problem during the day, it was slow this morning and was even slower tonight (I am in Australia and it now late at night), I had to do other things for a little while before the screens would change.

I notice now that it is a lot better, as you said it could of been a networking issue (external to my residence as I had no trouble with other sites, even running youtube videos).

Unfortunately, the problem can sometimes be on the side of the project's network infrastructure.
Sometimes there is a lot of traffic.
Unfortunately, there may be problems.
Some problems are difficult to solve independently - many other factors.
