Hello
any idea of the calculation time? I have a wu in progress since 19H and it continues, the progress bar is at 100%.
Is this normal?
thanks

My OONI Probe WU was at about 89% after 12 or so hours with 1 1/2 hours to go.
When I later checked it was now at 14+hours, 14% and 101 hours to go.
How does it work?

The OONI Probe work unit down loaded automatically to run next to my CNODE work unit, which is great as I don't have to hit update all the time to get it.
Why does PERF not work this way and download and run next to my CNODE work unit without me constantly hitting "Update" to try and get a PERF work unit?

Thanks

Can I ask you to run the app for longer and not kill it?
I am very curious how long it will take and if it will finish in real time....

Alternatively, you can download the ZIP archive and unpack it.
URL: https://cybercomplex.net/docs/ithena_ooniprobe_v1.02.zip
You can run the wrapper program...
Linux 64-bit architecture.
I guess there are no problems with this version?
May I ask you to make some tests?

All of mine went to 100% after downloading.
Then reset the progress with ~12 hour ETA.
This morning they reset progress again after reaching 100%.
16hr in, 35% and 1d6h ETA now. Will they ever end?

There is probably some error in the calculation of the "progress" value.

I suggest that you do not suggest the progress bar value.
Is it possible to leave the application running for longer?
I am interested in the results... Will it finish in 48/72h?

You tell me if it will finish haha. I haven't aborted any.
Even if progress bars are incorrect, they usually don't start over. BOINC tasks typically never progress or wait at 100% until actually complete.

11 tasks under progress:

Tasks Elapsed Progress	Time Left
1 2:33h 19.4% ~10:36h
3 1:49h 14.2% ~11:00h
7 1:38h 12.5% ~11:26h

All tasks reported 100% complete maybe first five minutes, then dropped to 0% and started counting. CPU usage was that time 1-2%, then dropped to 0.1 or less

After a 2nd set of 12 hours the tasks went back o 0% progress. 1 day in and 0%. Due to that the ETA is 31d but might end up "complete" in another 12 hours just to reset I'm guessing.

The application has been updated.
Latest version v1.03.
Versions v1.00/v1.01/v1.02 have been deprecated.
Please carry out the tests ;)
Execution of the application may take up to 24 hours.
Are there any changes?

Running the program (wrapper) from your finger works fine.
Even for version v1.02 (link to ZIP archive above).
Link: https://cybercomplex.net/docs/ithena_ooniprobe_v1.02.zip

On BOINC unfortunately an error occurs (stderr out):
couldn't start app: Can't write init file: fopen() failed

Does anyone have an idea where the problem is?
It has a problem reading some file?

Those 11 tasks are still under progress:

Tasks Elapsed Progress	Time Left
1 17:28h 42.4% ~23:43h
3 16:42h 37.4% ~1d 03:00h
7 16:33h 35.6% ~1d 05:54h

Should I abort them for new version or keep going?

A very good question.
I would not kill this job.
I can see the progress bar in this job is working properly (is it growing all the time?).
The question is, will he finish the job in 72 hours? Maybe it is possible ...
The current version for new jobs is v1.04.

Ok, I will let 10 of those 1.02 run until end (hopefully)

Aborted one task to get ver 1.04, it has been running now for 35min, progess has been 100% all time, no estimated time available.

This work unit (version 1.02), reached 24 hours with 37 minutes to go and I think 80 or 90%.
When I checked later it had gotten to 34 hours with 10 hours to go and 76% done.
Now it is at 37 hours with 694 hours to go and just 5% done.

Certainly is jumping around a lot.

No. This is just a test setting.
To be safe, I gave more - 2048 MB.
Ultimately it will be set to a smaller value ;)
Now only tests.

Just to add to the discussion:
I have 6 OONI tasks running; version 1.02. The progress bars are moving all over the place :) just like everyone else is reporting. They definitely indicate that they will not finish before the due date (Monday). I'll let them run until they're overdue.
