Ok, will see when I have time to make them, a whole weekend is waiting. ;-)
Meanwhile I want to know if the badges with the stars (some posts above) are good enough before making more.
These of course can be made in way more colours also.

I would like to appreciate supporting users even at this stage.

Well okay, but wouldn't be one badge enough already?
I cannot see and don't understand how do you want to make a difference between the rankings you mentioned above:
- Bronze Beta Phase Badge
- Silver Beta Phase Badge
- Gold Beta Phase Badge
- Ruby Beta Phase Badge
- Emerald Beta Phase Badge
- Shapphire Beta Phase Badge
- Diamond Beta Phase Badge

I repeat the above question since I see no answer so far to it. And before this I won't make any badges since I don't want to do unnecessary work. ;-)
How do you plan to make a difference on so much (beta) badges, Rysiu?

you could award every wu returned with 5cred (fixed credit), problem solved!

Exactly my thoughts also. Since it seems to be an NCI-project anyway and the length of the workunits are almost always the same it would be the perfect solution.

Sorry for the wait, had some busy days (un)fortunately... ;-)

@DoctorNow maybe you would do option 2) of badge for the beta version in many variants?

Well, I can do that, but as long as the credit issue is not really solved I wonder what this should bring.
Besides, I'm not sure what you are planning with this badge, but this would be your problem.
From my personal view the emblem looks a bit too simple and not project relevant but there are quite a few of badges who do that -

Meanwhile, since I thought myself that the stars in the first sketch were too small I redesigned the whole thing in an appropriate size and developed two new prototypes:

These are only in bronze so far, if you think it's good then I will do more in more colours.

those badges look great !!

Thanks Bok.
But now as I compare them with the badges in my sig I see the stars are too small, especially since the badge is a little bit bigger than the usual ones anyway.
I think I need to remake the whole thing with different sizes...

For 2) can you add so that the background is properly transparent? (here white color)

Strange, I don't know why this is black, the transparency of the pictures is set correctly. Probably the upload-service doesn't support it, but I can't find an info for it.
Maybe I try another one later when I upload newer badges.

And here are the first badges for credits:
Bronze, 1 star:
Silver, 1 star:
Gold, 1 star:
I have already made them with 2 and 3 stars, but want to wait if this is okay.
Can also make them with 4 stars and 1 big star, or in addition when this is not enough for credit ranges with more colours.

Hm too late to edit now...
I'm going over to another thread with the badges, this here should be for the no credits issue.

Maybe with the alpha / beta letter inside it is not a stupid idea?

Doesn't look very project relevant then...
How's this:

I'm currently working on the stars badges, probably I can show them later...

Edit:
Bad transparency, something went wrong there...

I wasn't even aware that Collatz had changed it's badges. Will have to take a look.

I almost thought that... ;-)
Hm, it's a bit strange anyway since Slicker didn't answer to anything when you read the whole thread - maybe there's a reason to it?
Obviously the badges aren't exported because they are stored in a separate disk directory with consecutively numbered files.
I'm not sure but I guess the change did happen after the last big hard disk/project accident (don't know anymore when it's happened, was it at the end of 2018? Or maybe earlier), where everything got lost and he had to start from scratch.
Also the range is way bigger now, the last badge is for 100 billion credits.

And may I point to the fact that the military style badges that were introduced by Collatz are not being used by the sites that make the BOINC signatures? They prefer the old ones, and so do I

I wonder what you are talking about here. There are several projects with badges which have stars in it - yoyo, WUProp, Amicable...
Some months ago I discovered that Collatz has introduced new badges inside the project, but as far as I've readed in this thread, there is no statement of Bok or anyone else from stats sites that they won't display these badges, maybe there's another reason for it - can you proof that with another link maybe?
So far Collatz is the only one with new badges which are not replaced on the stats sites as far as I know.
Besides: as far as I know the badges on Collatz look more like police badges from the USA and not from the military

add something like military ranks? For example, some star/s? ;)

Yeah, good idea. This way it won't be fixed to numbers and you can vary it later when you introduce the "real" credits.
Don't know when I will be finished with it, probably not before tomorrow evening...

Ok, since was the easiest so far I made two versions for the "initial stage"-badges:

Maybe a bit too big since it will be downscaled on most of the web pages anyway. alpha and beta could also be combined if desired but then iTh must be removed.
I guess I will remove that anyway when I put credit numbers on it (probably, not sure yet).

The issue of badges is very interesting.
Maybe you have any suggestions for badges?

Did'nt you made the logo for the project on the front page?
Would be easy to make badges out of it.
If you didn't or can't do that, I probably will/can try it - I already made badges for a few projects in the past.

Just a suggestion: move the comma in our present credit three (or more) places...

Well, Rysiu stated in the first post to mine that credits are a very small amount - but (currently) there is no real proof (to me) that this is really the case.
As STEVE already made a little "joke" out of it, it is a fact that the server software doesn't show the real amount anymore like it was several years ago, it is rounded for two or three decimal places on most of the project pages.
Only the task page sometimes shows the real credit - when it isn't "too small", don't know currently but I think the last time I saw one was 4 or 5 decimal places. But this also was a while ago and I think the newest server software most projects use don't even show that anymore.
So if it's really so small it surely would be theoretically possible to multiply it by a specific factor.
But at the moment I'm not very convinced that we got "retrocredited".
That's why I already stopped crunching here a while ago. Even if I call myself an ATA and credits are most of the time the least thing I think about I don't like it to not getting anything for the work I do.

Rysiu wrote:
Old jobs are deleted from the BOINC server database.
The task database would grow too much and slow down the system.

Data is aggregated in another database.

Well, that was pretty obvious already, I'm familiar to that, but it wasn't an answer to my question.
As you didn't give one I'm thinking you don't have an answer/solution to it currently.
And if it won't be done sometime I think I'm done with the project already...

Will they be retroactive?

At the moment, I'm asking myself if this is possible at all now.
I see every task I had in the past is deleted from my account, and it looks like they are wiped out very quick from the database, when I take a look at the server status.
So how do you plan on crediting tasks from the past, Rysiu?

The application should be statically compiled - I will try to fix this error.

This looks very different from the solution I tried to find with installing the libssh2 (again)...
Since I couldn't get it to work anyway (I'm not very familiar with Linux at all and especially installations per Terminal) I wil wait for a static compiled version then.

Hi there!

Just got home after a while and found out that my first tasks got no credits so far...
Looking into the result files shows me this:
./ithena_cnode_check_v1.16_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu: error while loading shared libraries: libssh2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Is that the reason? If so, how can I fix this?
As far as I'm aware, this lib is already installed on my Ubuntu version, but I'm not completely sure now...

Edit:
First post in a brand new forum - a premiere for me.. ;-)
