After analysis, we found that the SBG incident also negatively impacted the iThena PERF app. The issues in iThena CNODE are also there but they are not necessarily very visible to the user. Well they are visible to this user, I aborted a previous CNODE work unit as stated below after 10 1/2 hours, the replacement work unit is currently running over 9 hours and is at 100% but still running with no end in sight. The PERF work units now take over 1 hour to run, on Windows or Linux. I have not returned any valid CNODE work for a day now. Conan My CNODE work unit has now passed 12 hours run time and my PERF work unit on the same Linux machine has passed 3 hours. Both are at 100% and have been for quite a while now. I have my doubts about them finishing. The Windows PERF work units do finish with much shorter run times than Linux. Should I abort these work units? Conan The PERF finished about 3 hours 15 minutes and then downloaded another one (all wu's that I have had since all run over 3 hours but do finish), this is on Linux. The CNODE is not going to finish and I am aborting this one as well after nearly 16 1/2 hours run time. I will see what the next does. Conan

(Message 1070) Posted 10 Mar 2021 by Conan Post: I have a CNODE linux work unit that has been running for over 10 1/2 hours, it is at 22.5% and still has over 36 hours to go. If it ends I hope to get a lot more than 2 credits for it. A few hundred would be more what it is worth. My PERF work units have gone from 136 seconds to 2,400 seconds for the same 2.0 credits. That needs to change. I decided to abort the work unit and hope the next one works better. Conan

46) Message boards : Number crunching : CNode (Message 1028) Posted 5 Feb 2021 by Conan Post: Is there a way to get the PERF tasks to download to Linux without having to hit "Update" every time I sit at the computer? CNODE downloads automatically but PERF tasks don't download at all unless I hit "Update". Then they run until the CNODE finishes but wont download any more (at least they used to now it seems just the 1 PERF downloads finishes and no more download), that is of course if the any PERF work units download in the first place which, even if you wait more than 5 minutes before you try. And yes the credit for a work unit taking 15 times longer (CNODE verses PERF) is on the weak side. Thanks Conan

I think I will probably reduce the requirements for badges... :) These are only proposals :) Rysiu, You don't have to worry I will continue to support the project. I was only pointing out what I thought was an anomaly, which it seems is not out of place. Your levels are probably fine and most people will be able to get them, it will just take me a little while, however is that not what getting a badge is all about, it is about earning the badge so that is what I must do, earn it. No, on the contrary, Linux wins ;-) 1.We got a beta badge for low-profit tasks. I agree that this situation remained too long, much longer than the distribution of the first badges 2. PERF tasks (not to be identified with Windows) are much faster than the CNode, but their badge level is 4 times higher 3. For Linux, unlike Windows, both applications are available (when they are alive). And now only Linux hosts continue to earn badges Thanks Sergey for a different point of view. Congratulations on getting your Beta badge, we all did not receive a Beta badge, I did not get one. Although I joined in Sept 2019 (1 day after you in fact), I didn't start running the project till early this year so missed out on the Beta badge even though I ran a lot of the low credit work units. So no badge for me then, I will just be patient and chug away, I will get a badge eventually. We continue onwards Thanks Conan

I was wondering about the many thousands of work units that were done by all the Linux users and we only got 0.0000333 points per work unit. Doing 100,000 work units didn't even get you 1 full credit. Window users get a faster application and have had 2 point work units since the start, Linux did not, and did not get 2 point work units till a long time after the Windows app had been running. So I was wondering about that. Perhaps it was all down to development? Linux misses out, as Windows apps take 4 minutes and Linux takes 40 minutes. Just throwing that out there as I will be taking a long time to get to the first badges of either application but congratulations to all badge winners.
